Bio

Krista Walter is Assistant Director, Investments Australia & New Zealand at Intellectual Ventures. At present, she is helping to build the partner community and oversees the macrostrategy and risk management for the ANZ area.

Previously, Krista worked at Macquarie Funds Management as a small companies analyst and is currently responsible for fundamental research across the full oil and gas and healthcare sectors. Krista utilises global oilfield management experience to facilitate fundamental analyses of companies and to make investment recommendations across all the Macquarie Funds groups based in Sydney, Australia.

Krista has hands on experience within the global oil and gas industry. Prior to Macquarie, Krista spent 7 years with the oilfield services company Schlumberger Ltd. where she was involved in field operations, planning and executing multi-million dollar projects, developing a global market for new product commercialization, and implementing career development programs to assist with organisational change initiatives. Prior to that she spent time with Mobil E&P (now ExxonMobil) working as a geologist in the Gulf of Mexico region.

Krista holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, a MS (Geochemistry) from the University of North Carolina and a BS (Geosciences) from the Pennsylvania State University.
